1952: First welded VW-compressor is introduced to the press, suitable for ammonia, freon and air.

1958: Grasso celebrates it's 100 years anniversary and receives the title "Royal". Offices are
established in Mexico, Brasil, Germany and Belgium and exports all around the world. Besides
the food industry, new applications of refrigeration industry are developed within the chemical
industry, mining and road industry.

1965: standing for: Grasso Engineering and Contracting (Grenco), installing refrigeration installations, starts in 's-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands.

1975: Factory of Grasso Perslucht opened in Oss, The Netherlands for the manufacture of air
compressors

1985: Grasso Perslucht becomes an independent company under the name GrassAir Compressoren
in Oss, The Netherlands.

1987: Grasso takes over the French contractor Matal S.A.

1998: Opening of PT Grasso Indonesia.

1992: Grasso becomes a member of the German multinational GEA AG. The GEA group employs about
14,500 people in around 50 countries in more than 200 operating companies. Sales in 2002
amounted to 2.9 billion Euro.

1994: Kühlautomat Berlin GmbH is taken over by Grasso. Kühlautomat is one of the largest
manufacturers of screw compressors. Grasso can now produce, in house, both reciprocating
and screw compressors for refrigeration applications. The company name became: Grasso
GmbH Refrigeration Technology. 

1999: The GEA group becomes a part of mg technologies group. The total mg group employs about
32,000 people in some 50 countries and consists of more than 450 operating companies. Sales
in 2002 reached 8.6 billion Euro. In September 1999 the take-over of the U.S. refrigeration
engineering firm FES, confirms GEA as a global player in the industrial refrigeration market. In
October 1999, Ilka Mafa became member of the Grasso group. Under the name Grasso
Kältemaschinenbau Halle GmbH they are responsible for the production of the Grasso chillers.
